To position Bucaramanga as a tourist destination and contribute to the city's cultural development and citizens' sense of heritage, numerous projects are being carried out throughout 2022 as part of the city’s 400th-anniversary celebrations. One of these involves the redesign, improvement, and renovation of Parque Centenario, an area that has seen a surge in artistic and educational offerings in recent years, led by institutions such as the Teatro Santander and the Municipal School of Arts. This competition is part of these significant transformation efforts, inviting architects, sculptors, designers, and related professionals to submit proposals for a sculptural piece to be installed in Parque Centenario.
The EMPORIA award guidelines encompass ephemeral works applied to museums, exhibitions, trade fairs, shareholder meetings, points of sale, festivals, sporting events, as well as conceptual and experimental architecture. The common denominator is that the architectural work must be ephemeral and executed for projects within Mexico.

Taking a step toward improving the quality of public space, the city of Barcelona, which will serve as the World Capital of Architecture in 2026, has launched a new International Ideas Competition for Young Architects. The initiative aims to transform 10 permanent blind walls—one in each district—into new facades. Organized by the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, in partnership with UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA), the competition seeks architectural proposals that provide meaning to walls that are currently anonymous and unremarkable, exposed in public spaces in a state of permanent temporariness.

The new edition of the BIAU will be held in early December 2024 in Lima, an exceptional setting for discussions regarding extreme climatic conditions and their impact on the built environment. The National Cultural Heritage Service (Serpat), under the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Works' (MOP) Directorate of Architecture, announces the call for entries for the Architectural Design Competition for the Replacement of the Rapa Nui Museum on Easter Island, Valparaíso Region.
The competition is open to national and international architects licensed to practice in their respective countries, as well as international architects partnering with those licensed to practice in Chile. Participants have until October 21, 2024, to submit their proposals.

Concéntrico, in its effort to initiate new formats that respond to urban transformations, presents a call for entries in collaboration with the Logroño City Council and LIF 2002 (Logroño Railway Integration), as part of the city's strategic plan to address heatwaves.
