In the neighborhood is Gwanyang market, a traditional market, where stretches from Gwanak main road to the back street behind the site. bSite is faced 3 roads and lies on major streets filled with busy people and traffic. While the side toward a 20-meter wide road is facing west, the southern side is narrow. With 60% building coverage ratio and 240% floor area ratio, seven floors can be built.

The terrarium is a rectangle, 34 meters long by 10 meters wide, and has open space to the south. Enough floors allow us to arrange roof garden. The first and second floors are enclosed with transparent glass walls to continue the vibrant atmosphere of the market.b The third, fourth, and fifth floors are designed to have windows only when necessary in order to minimize the light from the west, open to the roof garden to the south and east.

Roof garden in each floor provides a cozy lounge from which you can enjoy beautiful scenery. The narrow corridor leads to the roof garden, an enclosed room itself. In this room with soil ,grass and tree, we can see old villages and new scenery of the town be overlaped.

The terrarium, located at the southern part of the mountain and at the northern part of the river, will grow and bring the nature inside and welcome us with life.
