Text description provided by the architects. The project results from the need to create awareness among the inhabitants of Puebla City on Atoyac River care and the importance it has in the region. In addition to explaining in an interactive way the rescue project of 5km along the banks and the actions being carried out in relation to cleanliness and sanitation of the river.
The route by the MIRA (Atoyac River Module of Information) seeks to sensitize visitors in their relationship with water, which accompanies them at all times.
This project is defined by a frank geometry based on three main volumes without seeking any prominence are inserted into the topography inviting walking the halls through its squares and walkways, to arrive at a viewpoint where you can see the river and surroundings, as well as connecting a Riverwalk.
The route begins with an entrance square where is located a first body of water that connects to a channel that symbolizes Atoyac River and takes visitors inside each pavilion where the relationship with the river becomes closer. The first pavilion aims to sensitize the visitor through a deep Angeles Mastretta text about the history and status of the river. In the second pavilion, visitors participate interactively in the path to the river sending positive messages. Finally, the third module explains rescue project in the 5km along the banks of Atoyac River.
The walk rescues and benefits an existing gallery forest and forms the closest riverwalk, this trail connects and provides access to different activities and spaces that form the project to rescue the banks.
Nature is the lead element of landscape architecture through waterways and vegetation, together with architectural volumes organically integrated into the existing topography.
The MIRA is part of a series of actions to promote Atoyac River Rehabilitation, bringing it closer to the people, know their status, history, environment, enjoy and preserve it.
