The Ni-Newen project is located on a rural, Andean foothill property in the commune of Pucón, along Camino Los Nevados—a bypass connecting Pucón with Caburga, in the Araucanía region of Chile. It is set on approximately 9,000 square meters of land, designed as an 8-room tourist lodge with a maximum capacity of 24 guests. The building sits on treated piles to avoid altering the topography and local flora, preserving most of the existing trees and vegetation without disrupting natural water runoff. Consequently, the project has almost no impact on the local geography. Access is via an internal path through a native forest, where the structure appears almost imperceptible, blending into its surroundings. The facade facing the entrance is more closed and protected, a dynamic that changes and surprises upon entering. Inside, the facade becomes more transparent, where the individual volumes of the rooms open up and frame views of the forests, volcanoes, and mountain range.
