The new “Gabriela Mistral” Regional Library of La Serena is located on a regular plot within an urban context, just behind a very important landmark for the city: the house of Gabriela Mistral. Due to this location and the client's requirements, a clean, four-story regular building with simple lines was designed for the community, focusing on the activities generated within. The southeast facade opens up with a red-colored Screen Panel shading system, which directs the view from that sector toward the poet's house.
