Text description provided by the architects. Casa Astorga was inspired by Colombian architecture and its prominent use of exposed materials like brick. The main objective was to employ a brutalist style, where the materials themselves give character to each space in the house. From the outside, the play of brick on the facade demonstrates that architecture can be achieved without unnecessary coverings, using elemental construction materials such as brick, concrete, and steel.
