Text description provided by the architects. For many years, social housing policies in Mexico have driven urban growth toward the peripheries of urban centers. This has caused serious problems for both municipalities and their residents, as these massive developments are built on very cheap land that lacks necessary urban services—which, in some cases, are eventually provided, but in many others are not. Most of these areas are remote and impractical due to long commute times to work, leading to high abandonment rates and turning these developments into highly unsafe areas.
