The documentary Vilanova Artigas: The Architect and the Light, written by Laura Artigas and co-directed with Pedro Gorski, was produced to mark the architect's centennial and released in 2015. The film won the "Lusophony Award" at the Portuguese film festival Arquiteturas Film Festival Lisboa 2015 and is now available online to watch from home.
In the film, the life and career of the iconic Brazilian architect João Batista Vilanova Artigas are woven together through the memories of family, friends, and students, images from his personal archive, and previously unreleased accounts from the architect himself, while his major works, such as the Louveira Building, the Morumbi Stadium, and FAUUSP, are revealed through the eyes of their users.
You can buy or rent the film on YouTube or stream it on Amazon Prime.
