A new definition of what it means to “be an architect”—one that is both necessary and long-awaited by many—is beginning to take shape, and in this article, I want to help open your eyes so you can join this exciting movement of independent architects.
Where We Come From
Our profession belongs to the group known as traditional professions. Much like doctors or lawyers, architects have enjoyed the social benefits of this select group for centuries. To enter this circle, one had to acquire the mysterious knowledge of the guild and obtain the proper accreditation. Only then, and by adhering to the established regulatory and ethical code, could that person offer their professional services and enjoy the status they conferred.
