APCA Announces the 2019 Winners in the Architecture Category

The São Paulo Association of Art Critics (APCA) announced yesterday the list of winners for the 2019 APCA Award. The awards are divided into ten categories, encompassing architecture, visual arts, cinema, literature, fashion, popular music, radio, theater, children's theater, and television.

Since 2010, APCA has included architecture critics, who this year presented seven awards: best architectural work; environmental resistance; promotion of architecture in public debate; appreciation of architectural heritage; career dedicated to public university and academic research; urbanity; and urban appropriation.

The award ceremony for all honorees of this APCA Award will take place at the Sérgio Cardoso Theater on February 17, 2020, marking the organization's 63rd awards ceremony.

This year, the organization's board presents the APCA Special Award to actress Fernanda Montenegro for her leading role in defending freedom of expression, representation, and her unequivocal contribution to four of the art categories honored by the trophy: Cinema, Literature, Theater, and Television.

The jury for the APCA Architecture category was composed of Abilio Guerra, Fernando Serapião, Francesco Perrotta-Bosch, Gabriel Kogan, Guilherme Wisnik, Hugo Segawa, Luiz Recaman, Maria Isabel Villac, Mônica Junqueira de Camargo, and Renato Anelli.
