As part of the 12th edition of the ColorLife TRENDS program, this October, the brand Comex revealed the trends and the color of the year that will dominate in 2020. The program aims to promote the use of color across all industries and unlock its power as a visual tool to improve the environment, protecting and enhancing the lives of Mexicans. These trends were developed by 14 renowned creatives from various industries, including design, gastronomy, architecture, and fashion.

The brand also announced the 2020 color of the year: Vegetal (294-05), a shade inspired by agave, maguey, and cactus plants, which pairs harmoniously with concrete finishes. The color trends were determined by analyzing the themes and situations shaping the future of Mexican society.

This year, ColorLife TRENDS offers the opportunity to explore the 2020 trends through a temporary showroom located at Av. Moliere 310, Polanco, II Seccion, Miguel Hidalgo in Mexico City, within the future facilities of PÚBLICO coworking. The designed spaces were conceptualized and created by the creatives who developed the color palettes that will shape the coming year. A kitchen designed by Chef Rodolfo Castellanos, a café by the Lara brothers, a studio by Cecilia León de la Barra, and a bathroom by Javier Marín, among others, are some of the 12 installations that were showcased from October 8 to 14.

For this edition, the creatives took transition as their guiding theme, reflecting the shifts occurring within family dynamics and values, society and culture, the convergence of generations, a new political and economic landscape, and the rapid acceleration of technology. These shifts prompt us to evaluate, assess, and redefine reality in order to build society, culminating in the four color trends that will dominate in 2020.
