Following a selection process in 2015, Mexico City was chosen as World Design Capital 2018. With Socially Responsible Design as its central theme, the World Design Capital CDMX 2018 program will promote the role of design and creativity as agents of social and cultural change within an urban context, while also offering proposals to address Mexico City's challenges, such as public space, mobility, and sustainability. The creative community at large will be able to rethink the concept of the megacity and showcase ongoing efforts to build a more livable city.

Throughout 2018, World Design Capital CDMX will present a program divided into signature events, as well as a local agenda featuring academic, cultural, and design activities.
