“El apartamento” (The Apartment) is a remodeling project of a home acquired by a young couple with a child, who moved from a rural town near the city of Cienfuegos. Its location is the result of an analysis of the city's real estate market, which ruled out the possibility of purchasing a single-family home due to a limited budget, leaving them to choose between buying an apartment in one of the newly developed neighborhoods on the outskirts or a highly deteriorated property in the city center. The couple chose the second option, as its lower cost allowed them to allocate the remaining budget to renovating the existing structure to adapt it to their needs.
