Text description provided by the architects. The NK Store project sought to propose a diversity of uses for the building – in addition to being a luxury fashion house, it is also a space for events, fashion shows, art exhibitions, the company's administrative headquarters, and various technical areas. Regarding the choice of materials, Estudio Tupi sought a certain austerity, using concrete, wood, mirrors, curtains, leather, carpet, brass, and Portuguese mosaic. This created a box where products could be hidden behind translucent curtains (which also double as wall cladding) or locked inside Brazilian ironwood cabinets. The sliding-door niches of these cabinets reveal fashion treasures or form opaque surfaces when closed, showcasing fine millwork.
