Today, we have news they are ready to begin the next phase of the bus stop redevelopment project. The Santa Monica-inspired conceptual design, called “The Blue Spots,” is clean and unobtrusive, and was designed to enhance the city’s ambiance, which will eventually replace or enhance all 360 bus stops around the city. The structures will be flexible and able to adapt to various orientations and site specific conditions around the city. The goal is to have the first new stops in place by December 2010.

AD Interviews: Lorcan O’Herlihy

By — Filed under: ArchDaily Interviews , ,

A few weeks ago we had the chance to visit L.O.H.A. and interview Lorcan O’Herlihy in .

We visited Lorcan because we were very interested on his recent housing projects, which offer rich public spaces bringing back the “neighborhood” to central areas of Los Angeles, away from the suburbs.

It was interesting to hear his answer on the role of architects on contemporary society, and see a new contemporary lifestyle is materialized, addressing location, densities, materials, green strategies and community concepts, an architects response to current society issues.

You can see more on this on the residential projects by we featured earlier: Formosa 1140 and Habitat 825.
