The national hydro system in Bicaz – Stejaru on Bistrita River has been active for 50 years, being the first Romanian hydro station. ZIP & BDX Studio was commissioned to design the new Visitors’ facility to celebrate its anniversary – including new gateway and on-grade parking, and as hydro and alternate power educational center and related activities.

Beyond the socio-historical and industrial significance of this event and place, we aimed to contribute to the Romanian cultural resources experience as projected timelines.
