Kaohsiung: The Latest Architecture and News

Paolo Cucchi Architects, based in Italy and Malaysia, shared with us their proposal for the Kaohsiung Port and Cruise Service Centre International Competition. More images and architect’s description after the break.

Our latest proposal for the Kaohsiung Port and Cruise Service Center International Competition proposal comes from Malone Chang + Yu-lin Chen Architects (in association with OZ-P and You-Yi Lu Architect). More images and architect’s description after the break.

This competition entry for the Kaohsiung Cruise Terminal and Port Service Center in Taiwan comes from Forrest Fulton Architecture. The architects approached the design of a new gateway as a challenge to design a contemporary version of the traditional city gate.

Los Angeles-based HMC Architects shared with us their proposal for the Kaohsiung Port and Cruise Service Terminal Competition in Taiwan. They were selected as one of the five finalists. More images and press release after the break.

Influx_Studio has taken on the task of designing a cultural and ecological visit for the Koahsiung Marine Culture and Pop Music Center as a measure to critically enhance and hybridize the urban fabric in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in response to the global infrastructures of a growing global economy. The proposal, titled The Vortex, is projected to become a powerful icon for the city, and embody a refreshing sustainable identity for the Kaohsiung.

Within this past month we featured STL and Sun & Associates‘ proposal for the Kaohsiung Competition. Now, Maxwan shares with us their design for a Marine and Pop Music Center. Their design, titled ‘LOVE COVE’, focuses on exposing the reality of the various activities that take place at the marine port through a visual showcase while engaging with the culture of the country.
