The UFRRJ SEMAU is an academic event conceived by students with the support of the Architecture and Urbanism program. Now in its fifteenth (15th) edition, the event’s primary objective is to foster the exchange of experiences and enrich academic training through lectures, practical workshops, exhibitions, debates, and cultural activities that broaden perspectives on the profession and its multifaceted experiences.

The podcast "ECOAR.Q - A arquitetura falada" will launch on September 3rd on major streaming platforms (listed below). Created by architect Marcelo Macedo, principal of Studio MEMM, the podcast aims to document current discussions in architecture and urbanism by featuring expert interlocutors from the field, whether architects or otherwise.

This year, Open House Madrid will host a Special Edition that focuses on the city's immense and often unknown urban wealth, with a particular emphasis on opening the doors—both real and virtual—to its most iconic and unique buildings and urban spaces. The sixth international architecture and design festival, taking place from September 25 to 27, will offer free access to some of Madrid's most interesting and inaccessible buildings, establishing itself as the most anticipated festival of the year for architecture enthusiasts.

The second Housing Dialogue: "Housing and Roots" will explore the case of Pacífico 223. The discussion will cover life before the earthquake, the meaning of housing for individuals and communities, the emotional bonds born from memories associated with a home, the grief that follows its loss, and the collectives that emerge and strengthen through reconstruction efforts.

Alejandra Devecchi (Urban Planning Manager at Ramboll Environ - University of São Paulo), Gabriela Callejas (Co-founder and Director of Cidade Ativa), and Pedro Baganha (Councilor for Tourism, Public Space, and Heritage at the Porto City Council) will discuss urban planning and social responsibility in city building. Government, civil society, and businesses united for a greater goal.

The CAP Regional Lima extends an invitation to the activities scheduled for the 13th Anniversary of the Lima Regional chapter. We will celebrate the architecture of our city by touring iconic modernist buildings, interviewing renowned Peruvian architects about their careers, showcasing the vitality of the new generation of architects emerging in the Lima scene, and exploring the diversity and quality of work from future architects, who will present their undergraduate theses and final projects.

As part of the activities commemorating the 13th Anniversary of the Lima Regional Chapter, we invite you to join us for a presentation by two of the world’s most innovative architects: Solano Benítez from Paraguay and Rahul Mehrotra from India, marking the conclusion of the anniversary week.

Through a graphic, historical, and comparative analysis of a selection of architectural magazines that have been instrumental in disseminating the discipline and developing graphic and editorial design, this talk examines how these publications have emerged and disappeared over the last two centuries. It also explores the historical and disciplinary milestones that ensure architectural publishing remains not only a significant presence but a relevant and vital force in a fully digital era.

The conference "Nature in the Architecture of Antoni Gaudí" will feature architect Aldo Lértora Carrera, a specialist in the restoration and conservation of monuments and historic centers, as the speaker. The panel will include Dr. George A. Latour Heinsen, an architect specializing in urbanism and territorial planning; architect Álvaro Ballón Mendiola, director of Sacro Arquitectos; and architect José M. Almuzara Pérez, president of the Association for the Beatification of Antoni Gaudí.

It is necessary to redefine horizons for transformation, and the municipal elections offer this possibility. This is the theme of the upcoming conversations with candidates on our program, Meia Hora com o BrCidades. The first of these features Guilherme Boulos, candidate for mayor of São Paulo; it will take place next Tuesday, September 29, at 8:00 PM, hosted by Paolo Colosso and Erminia Maricato.

As part of the Final Degree Workshops at the EAAD of ITESM Campus Guadalajara, the results of the first Adpprentice AADP Workshop will be presented on Wednesday, September 30, at 5:00 PM (CDMX). The workshop aims to connect recent architecture graduates with renowned architectural firms, where participants can refine their design skills by interacting with the firm's principals in a learning environment based on the mentor-apprentice model.
Renowned architect Julio Gaeta will provide commentary on the project "Reconversion of the Salcido Marble Cement Plant into a Regional Environmental Center."
This marks the first public presentation of the project, which will be exhibited at the Palazzo Bembo in Venice as part of the collateral events of the Architecture Biennale taking place in May 2021.

On Wednesday, September 9, the book Patrimônio Arquitetônico Brasil – Portugal will be launched. This activity is part of the 7th FIPA - International Forum on Architectural Heritage Brazil – Portugal and will be broadcast online.

Open House Madrid is an architecture and city festival that, over the course of a weekend, offers free access to dozens of buildings that are usually closed to the public.

For 2020, Open House Madrid has designed a Special Edition that, under the theme "Rediscover Madrid," will focus on the city as a benchmark for architecture and design. The city's most unique spaces will open their doors through small-group in-person tours and virtual visits. The program ranges from classic and historic buildings to contemporary architecture and some of the most renowned architecture firms, where the public can learn firsthand about the latest developments and the design process behind the buildings that surround us.

On September 25, the 6th Open House Madrid architecture and design congress will take place. Titled GREEN IN THE CITY, the event will delve into the capacity of cities to transform and address critical issues such as public health, climate change, and energy generation, among others. Under the slogans "GREEN is the new black" and "Radical GREEN, time to rewrite the rules," the congress will feature top professionals from each sector to share their unique perspectives on the selected theme.

On Friday, September 25, the discussion "Citizen Initiatives: A Proposal for Lima 2035" will be held.
