The national public call for entries issued by the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning, and Environment (MVOTMA) in Uruguay, under the title 'National Public Competition of Architectural and Urban Ideas for the site of the former Raincoop cooperative', aimed to redefine and develop an urban space that would address the high demand for housing in the Montevideo department, while fostering a high-quality, inclusive, and democratic public realm.
The jury awarded second prize to architects Jorge Gambini and Rafael Solano, in collaboration with Andrés Capurro, Emilio Garateguy, Sebastián Lambert, and Ignacio Trecca.
