A sustainable, reforested timber pavilion featuring 24 photographic and typographic panels will be installed in the heart of Praça Mauá from September 8 to October 17. The exhibition, Future Now – Revisiting Earth Architecture, offers new perspectives on the challenges of contemporary architecture and addresses urgent global issues. The showcase provides an architectural experience that bridges the latest in high-tech innovation with one of the oldest building materials—earth (such as clay and mud)—and its contemporary applications.

From September 8 to 10, you can attend the 6th International Congress, a biennial event organized by the Architecture and Society Foundation, where the city takes center stage as the focus for reflection and debate on its reality and future from various perspectives.

Novos Talentos Brasileiros – Design & Arte is now accepting submissions for its 2021 edition, featuring a new category this year: "Decorative Objects." From September 10 to September 26, 2021, CasaShopping will host the 6th edition of the project, promoted by Morar Mais Cultural, with the goal of serving as a showcase for emerging talent and boosting the design market.

IED Rio is offering four free online classes this September, corresponding to four full online courses scheduled for the second semester. These sessions serve as a lead-up to the launch of in-person courses in 2022. At Play: Architecture & Game is an exhibition about play and imagination, built experiences, and mythological narratives. It centers on the idea of "World-Making" and brings together two figures: the architect and the child. Children's games have always been a fertile ground for the invention of "Worlds." Likewise, architects also imagine new "Worlds." These worlds, and the mechanisms of invention upon which they depend, are the essence of the exhibition, which addresses themes as varied as childhood and education, urban planning, public space, history, architecture, art, and invention, with the goal of tracing the history of both imaginary "Worlds" and those that have been imagined.

The Fórum SP 21 will take place from September 21 to 30. This seminar evaluates São Paulo's Municipal Planning System, focusing on the city's Master Plan and Urban Policy, as well as their instruments, plans, programs, and complementary actions, and the impacts and repercussions experienced in the city throughout the 21st century. The call for papers for the Forum is now open, and abstracts or videos may be submitted until July 26, 2021.

The 2nd edition of Comuns—an experimental and participatory virtual laboratory—aims to stimulate the exchange of new experiences and reflections on the social, ecological, cultural, and political technologies for transforming Latin American territories, considering the current context of urban, social, and geopolitical spatial crisis.

The significance of wood throughout Chile's architectural history, and how this has been reflected in the buildings and neighborhoods constructed with this material, will be among the topics covered at the Heritage Wood Architecture Seminar in Chile.

Organized by Patrimonio Sur and CIPYCS, the goal of this Heritage in Wood week is to promote this type of architecture and educate the community on the importance of preserving and conserving our heritage.

The daily rush prevents us from seeing and experiencing our cities. Whether by bus, subway, car, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot, we are constantly rushing, failing to realize that time is our most valuable asset. In this haste, cities go unnoticed. Our focus is simply on commuting, day after day.

Following the damning report published by the IPCC in mid-2021, the message is clear: there is no longer a way to reverse climate change. The notion that humanity would manage to get away with it—depleting and overexploiting the Earth without suffering the consequences—has proven to be mistaken. The model of development and growth that has governed us for at least two centuries must be rethought from its roots if we are to continue our life on this planet. Therefore, in 2022, we have no choice but to question our actions to date. With the goal of pushing thought toward undoing what we have been doing wrong, the three issues of ARQ magazine next year will be dedicated to different ways of rethinking our relationship with the environment: "Decolonize" (ARQ 110), "Degrow" (ARQ 111), and "Deconstruct" (ARQ 112).
