The PAD Residency Program is a six-month program in which six creatives (open to designers of any discipline and architects) develop a socially focused design project involving research, development, experimentation, and prototyping. The Arica Barroca festival is a cultural celebration honoring the South Andean identity of Arica and Parinacota, a Cultural Landscape of the Americas. This year’s festival theme, "From the Pacific to the Andes: Pirates, Traffickers, and Franciscans," unfolds over three days of celebrating the region's rich essence. The community is invited to participate in over 20 free activities, including specialized talks on history, archaeology, architecture, music, and the visual arts; generative roundtables that entice with the aromas and flavors of heritage cuisine; art workshops to revisit ancestral crafts; Baroque concerts at the Arica Cathedral; and an art and design fair, the Neo Barroca, a showcase inviting local artists to the Plaza Colón to share their work. The festival will take place from May 16 to 18 and is open to the public.

The initiative aims for the Plaza de las Carretas to function as a unifying space that provides connections to the surrounding axes, while also establishing itself as a true "public activity center" for continuous use in its own right.
The objective of this competition is to design a facade of variable thickness for a site in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The project must address the facade's relationship with both interior and exterior spaces, its materiality, the connection between architecture and the urban environment, its habitability in relation to its uses, orientation, and environmental integration, as well as any other elements proposed by the participants.
