The construction of timber buildings will be the subject of a meeting at the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) next Friday (March 23), from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Open to the public, the "Wooden Skyscrapers" event will feature international architects Andrew Waugh (England), Cazu Zegers (Chile), and Wolfgang Winter (Austria).
The event is organized by FAAP’s postgraduate program in Timber Architecture, coordinated by Professor Marcelo Aflalo, which promotes the intensive and sustainable use of wood in construction. "The ideal path to avoid environmental harm is the use of renewable, reusable, and low-waste materials, such as wood," Aflalo notes.
