The primary objective of the MORPH NEXT HP Awards is to foster and promote innovation among architecture students. Therefore, at Morph, we seek to recognize students who challenge traditional conventions of drawing and graphic expression and who, like us, propose innovative solutions to contemporary design and construction processes.

The competition aims to select an urban renewal project for the area surrounding the Mercado Municipal Paulistano. This area currently encompasses a range of functions beyond commerce, having evolved into a central tourist hub for the city.

The competition seeks two complementary approaches: a strategic intervention plan covering an area accessible within a 15-minute walk, with the Market at its center, and a set of physical interventions to improve the space within a broader twelve-block perimeter, addressing key urban challenges in the area, such as the relationship with the Tamanduateí River and the railway line.

Never Enough Architecture (NEA) presents its new initiative in support of Madrid Architecture Week and in collaboration with the City Council of Pelayos de la Presa (Madrid, Spain). This initiative combines a detailed course on "Adaptive Reuse" and "Placemaking" with an architecture competition, offering participants comprehensive learning on these two current key architectural trends.

Growarq Week is an event dedicated to architects, engineers, designers, and students looking to revolutionize their design process through a methodology that combines two software programs: Revit and Lumion. The event will take place from December 12 to 14, 2023, at 7:00 PM each day, and will be held entirely online.

“How to Remember a Crime: Mapocho River” is a free performance that, through a walking tour guided by soundscapes, voiceovers, and testimonies, encourages reflection on the connection to nature, civic development, fundamental rights, and crimes against humanity committed during the dictatorship.

Vila Plural, the country's first creative entertainment hub, is hosting its first Belca Collage Art Workshop on Thursday, December 14, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets are R$350.00 and are available for purchase on the Sympla platform. The activity is an immersive, hands-on experience led by the artist, with a focus on each participant's creative journey and personal interpretation of art.

What is the significance of certain monuments to our cities? Can we measure our memories or qualify their meanings in how we view the world? I believe every city or place holds something that leaves a mark on us, representing our identity or our journey. When we are far away, visualizing these places makes us feel comforted, welcomed, and, in a sense, at home.

The Askin Awards is the first national design competition organized by TARIMATEC, aimed at discovering and showcasing new design talent worldwide. The competition seeks to foster innovative and sustainable proposals that, by using products from the new ASKIN brand, transform the way we conceive and inhabit spaces.

Applications for the lato sensu postgraduate program at Escola da Cidade are open until March 11, 2022. Established over 10 years ago, the program consists of seven courses and is structured around two central aspects: practice and design methodology, understood as research and a strategy for engaging with space across its multiple scales. The program’s overarching theme is "Civilization America: A Look Through Architecture," which proposes understanding and addressing the historical, geographical, territorial, and social conditions that define us. Through this lens, Escola da Cidade’s postgraduate courses aim to connect professionals working in architecture, urbanism, and related fields with research and critical reflection applied to design and education.

The second cycle of the free online seminar “The New Museu do Pontal – Partnerships and Inspirations” will take place on December 16 at 6:00 PM. The session will address the practice of crowdfunding and the importance of a culture of giving in Brazil, featuring examples of campaigns that have driven cultural and social transformation through community engagement and a shared sense of purpose. Participants include Lucas Van de Beuque, Executive Director of the Museu do Pontal; Paula Fabiani, CEO of the Institute for the Development of Social Investment (IDIS); artist Martha Niklaus; and Larissa Novais, Special Projects Consultant at the Benfeitoria platform. The discussion will be moderated by Tatiana Richard, Coordinator of Projects and Institutional Development at the Museu do Pontal.

The São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture, Creative Economy and Industry (SCEIC-SP) and the Pinacoteca Arte e Cultura Association (APAC) announce the opening of submissions for the 36th Museu da Casa Brasileira Design Award in the Product and Written Work categories. Participation is free and open to Brazilian citizens and foreign residents living in the country for more than two years. The Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries of the State of São Paulo (SCEIC-SP), in partnership with the Institute of Development and Management (IDG)—manager of CULTSP PRO, a professional qualification, innovation, and sustainability program—and the Pinacoteca Art and Culture Association (APAC), is hosting an in-person, free lecture on December 9, 2025, at 7:00 PM, featuring designers Levi Girardi and Mario Fioretti on the topic "Behind the Scenes of Iconic Industrial Design Projects in Brazil." The event will take place at the Questtonó / QNCO office in the Pinheiros neighborhood of São Paulo.

Mercedes Viegas Arte Contemporânea will open the exhibition "Adalberto Mecarelli – Luz +" on December 12, 2019, at 7:00 PM for guests, and the following day for the general public. The exhibition features works by the artist, who was born in Terni, Italy, in 1946, and has been based in Paris for 50 years. This is the first exhibition in Brazil by the sculptor, whose abstract constructive approach is noted for research into light and shadow and solar light recordings. Their work is featured in various public spaces across European countries, including France, Italy, and Germany. "The exhibition primarily presents light sculptures that engage with the gallery space—geometric forms sculpted by shadow," notes curator Elisa Byington, who selected works by the artist spanning various techniques and materials.

The work on housing improvements and the qualification of urban spaces in peripheral areas, resulting from the implementation of public and free technical assistance for the low-income population of the Federal District (DF), is the subject of a book to be launched this Saturday (14th) in the Sol Nascente community, in celebration of National Architect and Urban Planner Day. The publication, edited by the Institute of Architects of Brazil and sponsored by the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal District, brings together texts from various authors regarding the experience carried out by CODHAB between 2015 and 2018, in addition to interviews and articles by professors who also address the topic as an extension project at the University of Brasília.

BrCidades is a developing network formed through spaces of dialogue, interaction, and the sharing of experiences and projects among various social agents—including social movements, universities, NGOs, technical entities, and legal institutions—committed to the social construction of a project for Brazilian cities that contributes to democratic expansion and urban justice.
