It all begins with an idea!
Active since 2021, the Inspire Future Generations Awards (IFGA) celebrate exceptional initiatives within the built environment that centre the voices of children and young people. This annual competition welcomes entries from architects, planners, local authorities, developers, and other built environment professionals who are committed to advancing participatory design with children and young people.
The IFGA recognises projects that demonstrate excellence, creativity, care, and a genuine commitment to engaging young people in shaping the spaces around them. Over the past four years, the Awards have played a key role in growing TET’s community of practice: connecting people, sharing knowledge, and fostering collaboration around inclusive and youth-centred design.
Our principal aim of running this awards programme is to open up space for young people to be heard, participate in and empowered in decisions about the environments they live, learn, and play in. By highlighting the value of participation, the IFGA helps ensure that the design of our cities and communities reflects the needs, ideas, and aspirations of younger generations. Each year the winning award entries are added to the TET Resource Bank, sharing knowledge, examples and speakers for TET Dialogues. The entries are featured in our Empowering Environment Report and winners will have space to present and reflect on their work. Humanity has achieved remarkable feats: exploring distant planets, transforming healthcare, and advancing artificial intelligence and robotics. But we've also lived through defining global events, shifts that have tested our societies and systems.

Beyond the Game: Adaptive Arenas for Tomorrow

The Denver Affordable Housing Challenge is an international architecture competition organized by AIA Colorado, the City and County of Denver, and Buildner. As the 19th installment in Buildner's Affordable Housing Challenge series, the competition explores how affordability and design excellence can be harmonized to create innovative, high-quality housing solutions tailored to Denver's specific context.

The 10th edition of MICROHOME marks a special milestone in Buildner's ongoing effort to explore the future of compact, sustainable living. This edition is presented in collaboration with Kingspan, a global leader in high-performance building solutions, and Hapi Homes, a company transforming the way homes are designed and built through technology, sustainability, and prefabrication. Together, they invite architects and designers from around the world to take on the challenge of shaping the next generation of micro-living.

The Architect's Chair Competition offers architects and designers an exciting opportunity to showcase their creativity by designing a signature chair that embodies their unique architectural vision. Inspired by the tradition of renowned architects creating custom furniture as an extension of their work, this competition challenges participants to distill their design philosophy into a single, iconic piece.

This exhibition presents an ongoing, cross-cultural design collaboration between Finnish interior architect and designer Esa Vesmanen and the Japanese brand minä perhonen. Within the interior of Maison Louis Carré, Vesmanen and Akira Minagawa—artist, designer, and founder of minä perhonen—integrate the influence of Alvar Aalto into their shared creative dialogue. Minagawa, inspired by Nordic design culture, shares with Esa Vesmanen a deep interest in tactile materials and craft-based techniques. Their design discussions inspired a special edition of Vesmanen's Finom lighting line, which explores the possibilities of paper-thin plywood, continuing Aalto's legacy of experimenting with wood's formal potential.

Following the success of its previous three seasons, the CAA is pleased to announce the launch of Season 4 of its Continuing Professional Development Lecture series for professionals.
