There is less than one month left to submit to the 2022 CTBUH International Research Seed Funding initiative, kindly sponsored by AECOM, with an award of $15,000. The goal of the seed funding is to assist talented researchers in developing projects and ideas to a level that would secure additional, more significant, funding—in conjunction with CTBUH. Proposals should relate to the tall building typology/urban habitat but are open to any topic or discipline. Proposal submissions are due by 15 January 2023.

This competition challenges talented students, working in groups under the guidance of a professor, to focus on a relevant research question and create an engaging response, with the winning team receiving $15,000 in funding. Research proposals should directly relate to the 2022 topic of “Sustainable Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat” and can come from any topic/discipline. It is up to the students to interpret the theme and outline how their research will address it. Submissions are due by 15 January 2023.
Saudi Design Festival 2023 (SDF 2023) will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 12-23, 2023. The edition will see the growth of design both in breadth and depth, adapting a new format that will activate various design destinations throughout the city. Kicking off this new program is a design forum happening on the festival's first weekend, alongside exhibitions, followed by a series of public realm interventions, and community-led events, under the festival’s calendar.

The Media Architecture Biennale features keynotes, workshops, symposia, panels, awards, and exhibitions based in Toronto with additional programming online. The event aims to offer a platform for communities of research and practice concerned with media and the built environment. MAB23 will bring together students, academics, and professionals from architecture, art, design, urban planning, media and communication, urban informatics, interaction design, and public policy to share new ideas and shape this evolving field.
International Design Competition for Museum of Sciences of Rome
A two stage architectural Competition for the development of the future Museum of Sciences of Rome (MSR), conceived by the Scientific Technical Commission chaired by the Nobel Prize winning Prof. Giorgio Parisi. The museum is the final part of a broader redevelopment program program that has been involving, since 2013, a dismissed military infrastructure in via Guido Reni.

An exhibition based on the studies of Los Angeles Chinatown will be on display at 949 Chung King Road from 01/14/2023 till 01/22/2023. The exhibition showcases different series of work done by Chieh-Ting Chuang. Chinatown is a recognizable architectural style that has been copied in every major city. This strong adaptive trait of Chinatown can not only be transformed into exterior spaces but also can be carried to interior domesticities. While the creation of the original Chinatowns is all based on the autonomy of the builder and owners of the era, this project explores the autonomy using modern technology and media.
Building Black Success Through Design (BBSD) is a FREE 12-week mentorship program offered through the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto. This program is for Black high school students (Grades 9 to 12) who are interested in Architecture and Design. The goal of the program is to inspire Black students to pursue excellence and innovation within design industries and academia, enhancing diversity within the field and therefore building Black success through design.
Concéntrico 09, International Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño, proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city through architecture and design proposals in different formats. The new edition will be held from 27 April to 2 May 2023.
