Since graduating from the Cooper Union School of Architecture in 1996, Vladimir Belogolovsky has crossed disciplinary boundaries by transitioning from practicing architecture to becoming an exhibition curator and critic to evolving as a conceptual installation artist in his pursuit of continuously scrutinizing two fundamental questions – what is an exhibition and what is architecture?
Mundaneum is the most prestigious traveling forum in Latin America, enabling students, professionals, and architecture enthusiasts to connect with renowned designers and thinkers from around the world. Latin America, the most urbanized and unequal region in the world, is home to 104 million people living in informal settlements. Here, one in four urban residents lives in a slum, shantytown, favela, or encampment, in conditions of poverty. While not invisible, these populations are often rendered invisible, forced to survive on their own terms while facing constant rights violations and the exhausting test of their resilience.
