We are currently facing an unprecedented global challenge; it is the first time in history that humanity as a whole has seen its biological integrity threatened simultaneously, regardless of geographic, cultural, or technological differences. As we seek to overcome mounting economic difficulties, we face the monumental ethical challenge of how to move forward under the imperative of preserving life above all else.
The workshop will address this fundamental question through the potential of architectural and urban design. It is a call to action and reflection for a radical improvement of current urban space conditions, especially in environments most vulnerable to the risks of COVID-19. This emergency research and design agenda is aimed at creating alternatives for the current built environment through low-cost response devices capable of addressing infrastructural needs with minimal resources.

Isolation, viewed from various perspectives and disciplines, is the central theme of the "Isolated Dialogues" series, organized by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture, which takes place every Wednesday. Participants include artists, architects, designers, musicians, scientists, writers, journalists, and others, both Chilean and international.
The dialogue with history is certainly one of the most exciting topics for reflection that a designer may approach. Among the several academic and post-graduation courses, YACademy is certainly one of the most prestigious contexts within which designers may explore the topic of history and past architectures. Located in the historical heart of one of the oldest and most important Italian cities, YACademy offers a refined specialization program in "Architecture for Heritage". Now in its third edition, the course offers the opportunity to discuss the topic with some of the most refined design firms, with the likes of Alberto Veiga, Kazuyo Sejima, David Chipperfield and Benedetta Tagliabue.
The course brings together leading architectural photographers and their contributions across three historical periods: pioneers (1826–1900), modernists (1900–1950), and contemporaries (1950–present).
