The journal rita_ has just published its latest issue, number 14. Titled Construcción común, it recovers those nameless, surname-less structures born from tradition and popular culture through the lenses of a series of photographers based across Ibero-America. Chilean architect Germán del Sol, recipient of the National Architecture Prize, opens this sequence of images as a guest master, given his close relationship with what is often mislabeled as "spontaneous" architecture.
TRAC - Tresoldi Academy
TRAC – Tresoldi Academy is an innovative educational project, created by STUDIO STUDIO STUDIO of Edoardo Tresoldi and YAC Young Architects Competitions with the aim of offering workshops where young people can gain exposure to the issues surrounding contemporary art. Through the creation of site-specific installations, the participants can contribute to enhancing the value of the territories where they are installed. TRAC – Tresoldi Academy positions itself between art and architecture. Young talented people will have the opportunity to take part in the creative process of one of the most prestigious and well-regarded brands in contemporary art. It will be a cycle of training activities oriented as “know how to imagine” (concept and design of an artistic installation) and “know-how” (the production of the installation).

'Timeless Communal Palaces' is a study on the persistent existence of large spatial structures dedicated to housing collectives united by life stances alternative to traditional family living. While interested in the spiritual and/or political principles that animate these structures, the research focuses on the coherence between their striking architectural beauty, spatial organization, and economic and ecological strategies. It also examines what Michel Foucault termed 'technologies of the self' that each initiative entails.

Ladakh Ecological Development Group (LEDeG) under ‘Liveable Leh’, a project funded by the European Union and supported by BORDA (Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association) and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), is currently working towards achieving an inclusive, resilient and liveable Himalayan city. The main focus of the project is to mitigate Climate Change and also to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 6 (clean water and sanitation) and 11 (sustainable cities and communities). As a part of this initiative, LEDeG is launching a Global Design Competition on solutions to resolve problems in high-altitude towns, under Work Package 4.8 of the Liveable Leh project.
