ArpaFIL Tribute 2018

    ArpaFIL is a gathering focused on architecture, heritage, and the arts, held annually since 1995 as part of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL). Since its inception, it has served as a forum where specialists and masters of architecture gather to promote, disseminate, share, and debate ideas with emerging professionals and the general public.

    7th International Conference on City, Contemporaneity, and Urban Morphology

    The 7th International Meeting on City, Contemporaneity, and Urban Morphology (EICCMU) is currently in its 7th edition, reaffirming the intersection of diverse approaches to urbanism. The event has been supported by FAPERGS (Research Support Foundation of the State of Rio Grande do Sul) and PROGRAU (Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism) since its inception. It will take place from November 7 to 9, 2018, at the Center for Graduate Studies and Research in Human, Social, and Applied Social Sciences, Arts, and Language (CEHUS) at the Federal University of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The event is organized by PROGRAU, the Urbanism Laboratory (LabUrb), the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAUrb), and the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel).

    SEA Manta 2019: III Architecture Students Seminar

    The third edition of the Architecture Students Seminar (SEA), aimed at architecture students, professionals, and the general public in Ecuador, will take place on January 25–26, 2019. Organized by the National Organization of Architecture Students (ONEA Ecuador) in collaboration with the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro, the University of Guayaquil, the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, and the Indoamerica Technological University, the event will be hosted at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro.

    From March 15 to May 30, the Archivo de Bogotá is hosting the exhibition and seminar "Modern Heritage: Architecture, City, and Photography." This event of national and international interest brings together two exhibitions that highlight the urban and architectural heritage value of modernity, in which photography plays a prominent role in its dissemination: "Bogotá Through the Lens of 10 Photographers" (Curators: Maria Pia Fontana, Miguel Mayorga, Margarita Roa) and "The Architectural Work of Le Corbusier: An Outstanding Contribution to the Modern Movement.     Book launch: '469 New Kindergartens: Innovative Architecture for Quality Education'

    On Tuesday, February 27, at 11:30 AM, JUNJI will present the book "469 New Kindergartens: Innovative Architecture for Quality Education" in the main hall of the Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda. From that day through Friday, March 2, a photography exhibition featuring 53 of these architectural works will also be on display.

      Joining us from Mérida, Reyes Ríos + Larraín Arquitectos is a design studio based in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, founded by architect Salvador Reyes Ríos and restorer and landscape designer Josefina Larraín Lagos. Since 2000, the firm has dedicated itself to design and intervention projects involving historic haciendas, mansions, buildings, and heritage sites across various scales. Their new construction and restoration work is distinguished by its local and contemporary character, encompassing an integrated approach to architectural and interior design, furniture, landscaping, and construction management. The book Lugar, Materia y Pertenencia, published in two editions by Arquine in 2017, is the first monograph on their 20 years of work in Yucatán and other parts of Mexico.
