This September 21-24, New Generations will have the privilege to host the 10th edition of the New Generations Festival at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome. Titled “New Urban Challenges”, the Festival will see the participation of more than 30 international guests, through a series of public lectures, exhibitions, online events, and satellite activities.

RIAS Consultancy – the competitions and procurement arm of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland – has launched a design competition to find an architecture team for a major new cultural building with a focus on mental health and well-being. The ambitious £15 million project, organised on behalf of The Crichton Trust, will be one of the most significant cultural buildings in Scotland, transforming cultural provision in Dumfries and Galloway, while complementing the extraordinary range of facilities and organisations at The Crichton.

The Government of Zimbabwe owns properties in New York City and the City of Rye and is therefore inviting local firms in New York with proven record to participate in the tender.

THE WORLD ARCHITECTURE AWARD OPENS VOTES TO STUDENTS IN ARCHITECTURE

On Saturday, July 16, starting at 10:00 AM, the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo hosts the third meeting of the Open Pavilion 2022 program. The initiative aims to open the historic Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion—designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and located within Ibirapuera Park—to the public, while offering free programming including dance workshops, children's activities, guided tours, and open discussions.

Slow living is a trend inspired by growing interests in mindfulness and sustainability – and our growing cultural need to escape from the negative effects of fast-paced digital living and high consumption. Yet how exactly can the design of our interior and exterior spaces interpret this trend and help us slow down?

Architect and collage artist Camila Mancilla presents her book Las casas de los espejos rotos: El collage como método de investigación creativa (The Houses of Broken Mirrors: Collage as a Creative Research Method). In it, she invites readers to explore this simple yet noble technique, highlighting its value not only as a finished work, but above all as a creative process.
