On Saturday, July 16, starting at 10:00 AM, the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo hosts the third meeting of the Open Pavilion 2022 program. The initiative aims to open the historic Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion—designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and located within Ibirapuera Park—to the public, while offering free programming including dance workshops, children's activities, guided tours, and open discussions.
Titled Actions for a Shared City, the event highlights a conversation at 4:00 PM with Father Julio Lancellotti and visual artist Carmela Gross. They will discuss how public facilities—whether designated as heritage sites or not—interact with the concept of collective space usage and shape how people relate to the city.
The program also includes a series of other activities: at 11:00 AM, a guided tour of the Pavilion with the Bienal team; and at 1:00 PM, a free-step dance workshop on the MAM SP marquee. At 1:30 PM, there is a special program for children: the storytelling session Making Portraits to be Remembered in the Future, with Markito Alonso and Rodrigo Taguchi. All activities are free (see details and registration in the Service section).
