The 2023 AZ Awards is Open for Entries! Show the World What You Have Accomplished!

This Thursday, January 19, at 1:30 PM (5:30 PM in Italy), the Gradoni Hall at the Università Iuav di Venezia library will host the book launch for Del territorio al detalle (Bifurcaciones, 2021). Edited by architect and academic Germán Valenzuela, the volume serves as an effort to gather a significant portion of the Latin American architectural discourse from the last decade into a single publication.

Chilean architect Smiljan Radic will deliver a lecture this Wednesday, January 18, at 8:00 PM as part of the XXII Architecture and Urbanism Biennial of Chile: 'Vulnerable Habitats.' “Journey of an Architect” is the title of an exhibition dedicated to the work of Eduardo Souto de Moura, opening on January 17 in Seoul, South Korea. Utilities seeks to excavate and document the multilayers of Beirut’s economic collapse, and employs an ethnographic lens to explore the material manifestations of the crisis across the city’s urban fabric. The project unearths the material infrastructural apparatus that is emerging as a response to socioeconomic conditions; solar panels, water tanks, private generators, and prison-like façades of banks are all elementary fragments of this apparatus.
