Architectural Design Competition for the Rapa Nui Museum on Easter Island

The National Cultural Heritage Service (Serpat), under the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Works' (MOP) Directorate of Architecture, announces the call for entries for the Architectural Design Competition for the Replacement of the Rapa Nui Museum on Easter Island, Valparaíso Region.

The competition is open to national and international architects licensed to practice in their respective countries, as well as international architects partnering with those licensed to practice in Chile. Participants have until October 21, 2024, to submit their proposals.

Concéntrico Open Call: Permanent Urban Climate Island

Concéntrico, in its effort to initiate new formats that respond to urban transformations, presents a call for entries in collaboration with the Logroño City Council and LIF 2002 (Logroño Railway Integration), as part of the city's strategic plan to address heatwaves. The objective of this call is to create a permanent urban climate island, to be located in the vicinity of the Felipe VI Park lake on the unpaved area that forms a hexagonal plaza.

International ideas competition for young architects: 10 party walls

Taking a step forward to improve the quality of public space as part of the World Capital of Architecture title the city will hold in 2026, Barcelona is launching a new International Ideas Competition for Young Architects to transform 10 permanent party walls—one in each district—into new facades. Organized by the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, in collaboration with UNESCO and the UIA (International Union of Architects), this call for entries seeks architectural proposals that give meaning to walls that are currently anonymous and unremarkable, exposed in the public realm in a state of permanent temporality.
