The Pichincha Architects Association (CAE) and the Ecuador Architecture Archive Museum (MAE) present two exhibitions that offer a journey through the history and memory of architecture through subtle evocations.

Thirty years after the death of architect Luis Ramiro Barragán Morfín in November 1988, the time is right to critically re-examine a figure who has left an indelible mark on the global history of architecture.

Juan Navarro Baldeweg has pursued his creative work across various expressive fields, including architecture, painting, installation, sculpture, and essays. His body of work forms a distinct artistic corpus, remarkable for both its coherence and the diversity of the media in which he works. The exchange of ideas and concepts between the arts, as proposed in his work, expands the traditional conceptual scope of architecture. The multiplicity of influences in his work, along with his commitment to applying his principles regardless of the medium, has led him to focus on creating pathways between different artistic practices.

The "Archivo Provisional" (Provisional Archive) exhibition initiates a research process centered on the Chilean Architecture and Urbanism Biennial. The exhibition aims to build a documentary body based on the architecture biennial—allowing it to be understood as a subject of historical research—and to share this documentation with both general and specialized audiences. It views the act of exhibiting as the construction of common goods for collective research into the intersection of architecture and the public sphere.

Spanning 9 hours and held on Tuesdays—December 4, 11, and 18—the course "Great Themes in Architecture: Cities" will be taught by Professor Heloisa Dallari, an architect with a PhD in Architecture from the USP School of Architecture and Urbanism, a professor of undergraduate and graduate courses at FAAP, and a lecturer and consultant in Interior Design.

As part of Gallery Weekend CDMX 2018, the joségarcía ,mx gallery presents the installation La voz de la materialidad, comprising an excerpt from Casa Palmas / DOSA STUDIO. The project challenges the necessity for architects to engage the public with construction processes through sensory experiences.

On Tuesday, August 28, the Museo de Artes Visuales (MAVI) will host the launch of ARQ magazine issue 99: Infrastructures, alongside the latest edition of the ARQDOCS series. This Saturday, December 15, marks the launch of the first edition of Envolvente magazine, a publication dedicated to promoting and recognizing local architecture by fostering critical discourse and opinion on relevant topics in architecture, design, and urbanism. Envolvente creates a space for critical reading, as we believe that architecture is defined not only by its imagery but also by its underlying argument.

You are invited to the launch of our new book, "Tribunales. Sobre una Teoría Moderna." This publication examines the Tribunales building, also known as Tucapel, based on work produced during the final cycle of Proyecto Móvil. Under the title "Tucapel," this initiative established a dialogue between the building and the artists invited to exhibit.
