The Latin American Coordinator of Architecture Students (CLEA), through CLEA Editorial and ONEA Ecuador, invites you to the virtual launch of the third issue of Revista CLEA, developed under the theme "Decolonization of Spaces." The official presentation will take place on April 23 at 6:00 PM (GMT -5) via a live broadcast on the CLEA Latinoamérica Facebook page.

The First National Meeting on Architectural Initiation is an event designed to establish an unprecedented space for dialogue, aimed at exchanging diverse teaching experiences, building a national overview of current university-level architectural education, and proposing new collective challenges regarding the process of introducing students to the discipline.

“Rethink the City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges” is a free online course offered by the Faculty of Architecture at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands). Following two editions with over 17,000 students, the third edition begins on February 19, 2020. The course was awarded the 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award by the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP).

The current global pandemic has necessitated the adoption of radical seclusion and social distancing measures on an unprecedented scale. In light of this transnational calamity and the gradual emergence of new social and political forms, CineCubo IAB—a film club organized by the Institute of Architects of Brazil, São Paulo Department—is launching an open call for its 2nd Cinecubo IAB Short Film Showcase. The event will select films that contribute to a reflection on the circumstances beginning to take shape as a result of this new epidemic situation.

We are in the final stage of the project "Built Memory: cataloging and digitization of collections at the Ingo Hering Memory Center"—a project sponsored by the Santa Catarina Foundation of Culture through the 2019 Elisabete Anderle Call for Cultural Stimulation, which enabled the processing, storage, and digital sharing of part of architect Hans Broos's collection.

Open House Madrid is an architecture and city festival that, over the course of a weekend, offers free access to dozens of buildings that are usually closed to the public.

For 2020, Open House Madrid has designed a Special Edition that, under the theme "Rediscover Madrid," will focus on the city as a benchmark for architecture and design. The city's most unique spaces will open their doors through small-group in-person tours and virtual visits. The program ranges from classic and historic buildings to contemporary architecture and some of the most renowned architecture firms, where the public can learn firsthand about the latest developments and the design process behind the buildings that surround us.

The BAQ 2020 cultural events provide a meeting space to foster full expression regarding architecture and the city, giving rise to various forms of artistic and cultural manifestations that complement the specialized tracks: Academic and Competition.

As part of the preparatory activities for TELÚRICO, the 1st Chilean Bioconstruction Festival, the second workshop in an annual series of practical and theoretical sessions will be held. The workshop will focus on design and construction using coligüe (Chilean solid bamboo), incorporating a theoretical introduction to the material's properties, followed by a practical course involving the construction of a large-scale entrance portal for the citadel, which will serve as the festival's main exhibit.

International initiatives already operating in spaces where architecture serves as a pedagogical tool focused on spatial empowerment, labor relations, methodology, and the process behind buildings.

The application process is now open for the first edition of Comuns, a virtual laboratory for experimental and participatory architecture, organized by Marcella Arruda and Marina Frúgoli in partnership with the Marieta cultural center in São Paulo, Brazil. The laboratory aims to foster the exchange of new experiences and reflections on social, ecological, and political technologies for transforming Latin American territories.

The Architecture and Urbanism program at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) is hosting a series of public lectures centered on the theme "São Paulo, Expanded Center: Many people without homes, many homes without people." The virtual sessions will be held via Zoom on October 22 and 29, at 5:00 PM.

Aiming to transform times of crisis into opportunities to discover new ways of overcoming emerging challenges, the Association of Architecture Offices (AOA), through its Associates and Services committee, has organized the "Dialogues for Action" series. The kinetic installation Path_02 by In-Dialog Collective (Tiffany Attali, Calin Segal, Caterina Miralles, and Codin Segal) tells the story of a journey through cartographic lines. It is drawn on paper by the invisible hand of an AI, an Artificial Intelligence. Its path serves as a testament to its struggle to navigate the millions of pieces of space debris and other orbiting objects that stand between it and the heavens.

This year, the 13th International NUTAU 2020 Seminar, scheduled for November, will be held entirely online. The central theme, “Valorization of Urban Forestry Waste,” seeks to discuss its potential for research and projects within its fields of activity.
