Modular Ceramic Facade at Lycée Gustave Monod | MOEDING

Moeding is a German manufacturer specializing in brick tiles for facades with a large variety of shapes, colors, and textures, with signature models that simplify their production and installation processes. The Lycée Gustave Monod modernisation project incorporated ALPHATON^® Modular Cladding for Ceramic Facades, innovatively reinterpreting the original materials.

Denu Paradon & Associés Architectes was in charge of the school's refurbishment, as well as the addition of new buildings. The new layout concentrates the main school functions around a newly designed central courtyard, replacing the previous workshops. As a nod to the school's original design, the architects chose the ALPHATON^® facade tiles in the classic brick red color. In front of the closed facade elements, the planners opted for ALPHATON® facade tiles in a special shape that echoes the format of the brick baguettes. The ceramic baguettes provide sun protection in front of the glass surfaces and an innovative form of elongated canopies.

The ALPHATON^® brick tiles can be used both vertically and horizontally on facades. They are available in 20 standard natural colors related to the material and chemical composition of the fired, unglazed ceramic tile.
