Siero Lam is a Spanish producer of wood products and compounds for construction, dedicated to distributing sustainable timber solutions. Simbionte house in Sierra de Guadarrama implemented Siero Lam's wood cladding for a durable and stable facade.

Simbionte house is an innovative cohousing, a collective space that combines living and working in harmony with its surroundings. This house puts into practice the notion of symbiosis, integrating bioclimatic design and natural materials to create an artefact that interacts with the environment as a living being.

The structure, insulation, windows and exterior finish of the Simbionte house have been built without resorting to plastic materials or artificial seals, opting for wood as the protagonist. The chestnut wood from Siero Lam stands out for being a local, sustainable, and perfect material for outdoors. This choice reinforces the sustainability commitment and also brings a warm and natural character to the design.

The exterior of the house incorporates the chestnut wood cladding from Siero Lam as it extends up to the roof in the form of tongue and groove slats on wooden battens of copper-treated pine. This technical and aesthetic solution turns the roof into a ‘fifth cladding, a walkable place that invites direct connection with nature.

Every detail of the Simbionte house has been designed to maximise energy efficiency and integration with the environment.
