More about this product

Oak Solid wooden flooring from Dinesen was used in the Ordrupgaard Museum in Copenhagen. The art museum is designed with an eclectic architectural style combining the style of three famous architectural firms through the ages.

The original country house was designed by Gotfred Tvede and built during the First World War. In 2005 a new wing was added, designed by Zaha Hadid. Recently in 2021, the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta added a new, characteristic element to Ordrupgaard with an underground extension in geometric shapes that reflect the light and the landscape.

Latest Architectural Piece

The latest architectural masterpiece created by Snøhetta is a new museum building with exhibition halls up to 14 meters underground. The design aims to reflect the changeable nature of every moment. Above ground, Snøhetta’s building is visible as a sculptural steel construction in geometric shapes with a surface that gives rise to unique reflections of the light and sky. Due to this effect, the building is affectionately known as ‘the Sky Garden’.

Oak Floors

The new exhibition halls use solid Oak wooden flooring from Dinesen. The result draws light into the space and contains a subtle reference to the surrounding landscape and forest. A newly built stair turret is similarly clad with Dinesen Oak and provides an impressive setting for the climb from the deep to the surface.
