More about this product

Douglas solid wood from Dinesen was used in a private home in Tel Aviv. Designed by Ronnie Alroy Architects, K House is characterized by an interplay of transparency and solidity, depth and airiness. Made of cast concrete, the form of the house is designed specifically to suit the climate and maximize natural light. Architectural elements such as the Douglas flooring balance the concrete finish for a warmer feel.

Design

The design features many subtle yet highly impactful features such as the tall ceilings and exposed concrete beams in the hallway. A skylight in between the beams creates a path of light changing throughout the day.

Douglas Wood

The Dinesen Douglas classic product was selected in a wide plank format. Finished in a Lye and White Soap, the pale and soft tone complements the raw expression of the concrete. The wood is used for partitions, panels, stairs, and for the interiors of the kitchen and bathroom with specially designed cabinet fronts.

The distinctive grains of the Douglas wood add details to the interior. The width of the planks varies throughout the space with the widest planks on the ground level and the narrower ones on the upper level.
