The robust solid wood chair, honett, presents itself as a modern interpretation of a Stabelle, a design that was already produced by horgenglarus in the beginning of the 20th century. The turned front legs are inserted into the sturdy seat according to conventional construction methods, giving the chair its unique appearance. A novelty is the insertion system for the curved rear legs, which was developed specifically for this design and gives the honett chair a contemporary and delicate look.
History
The history of honett begins in the product design department of the Stuttgart-based architectural firm Blocher Partners, who were hired to also furnish the restaurant of the Rothaus State Brewery, which they had previously designed. The seating for the restaurant in Germany's Black Forest , was supposed to combine the traditional, rugged feel of the region with zeitgeist and a refined, international flair.
Design
The honett chair presents itself with a comfortable seat and a solid wooden headpiece that is uncharacteristically three-dimensionally milled and curved. As a result, honett convinces with a solid and stable construction, yet the design appears light, reduced, and elegant.
