Modern Furniture in Zimerhof Hotel Extension, Bolzano | Flexform

New expansions for the Zimerhof Hotel, in Bolzano Italy pays homage to the traditions and materiality of the Alpine landscape. Situated in the midst of the woods, the Zimerhof hotel offers a sense of tranquility to its occupants.

Following a terrible storm in October 2018, tens of thousands of hectares of the Alpine northeast forest was destroyed. When the owners decided to expand the hotel, De Lucchi saw an opportunity to restore the lost natural beauty with architecture that pays homage to the forest. The proposed idea was to build two new separate structures that make use of the fallen wood of the trees damaged in the Vaia storm.
