Ceramic Textile System - Opportunity Pavilion | Flexbrick

The Ceramic Textile System from Flexbrick functions as a flexible construction system that is easily adapted to cover all kinds of architectural surfaces. Sustainability, mobility and opportunity are the three hot topics at Expo 2020 Dubai. The sustainable development goals (SDGs) are represented by the Opportunity Pavilion that uses the ceramic textile system.

The design proposed by AGi architects for this project places emphasis on the low carbon footprint guaranteed by the use of ceramic manufactured 100% with biogas and the use of recyclable stainless steel that was produced from recycled raw materials. This helps avoid CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and contributes to sustainability, using the cradle-to-cradle approach.

The pixelated pattern of the facade provides lightness and produces a spectacular visual effect when lit up at night. The ceramics that cover the floor provide a continuity with the design of the facade.
