This private residence in Queensland was designed with a focus on clean architectural lines and its form is inspired by the Cubist art style. One of the goals was to incorporate various timber features through the facade and exterior spaces, a look that is popular in the Sunshine Coast Area. Given the home's proximity to the ocean, DECO Australia's building materials were selected to help protect against sea salt spray and UV rays.
Exterior Battens
DECO Australia's DecoBatten series is used in the project to achieve a natural timber look that is also durable against the environment. The solid aluminum external battens have a marine-grade powder coating that is low maintenance and does not require painting, staining, or oiling. The battens are finished in the color DecoWood Smoked Ash, creating a modern aesthetic with an elegant woodgrain.
The DecoBatten 25x25mm elements are used on the roof around the BBQ station. The vertical battens are visually striking and are ideal for use around the BBQ area as they are non-combustible and fire-safe.

Outdoor Decking
Around the swimming pool area, DECO Australia's DecoDeck material is installed in the same color as the battens to create continuity. The timber-look deck is made of aluminum and mimics the form, feel, and overall appearance of natural timber. The deck includes a slip-resistant finish that resists chlorine effects and helps ensure safer activity around the swimming pool.
