This Private House in Ukraine was designed by Sulyk Architects as a holiday home with the goal of creating relaxing spaces that reference the surrounding landscape. Set within the Carpathian Mountains, the Private House is enriched with various spatial, material, and lighting elements that emphasize an inviting feeling. Thus, the Axolight Velvet ceiling lights were selected for this residence to fill the interior spaces with ample lighting and enrich the villa's natural design.
Design Concept
Sulyk Architects drew inspiration for the villa's color and material palette from the site's Carpathian Mountains. Light-colored wood is incorporated throughout the wall and ceiling cladding, as well as furniture pieces such as dining chairs and stools. Large windows help to bring in natural light while providing generous views of the surrounding mountains. To ensure privacy, light-toned fabric curtains are hung on every window.
Overall, the tactile materials and warm tones fill the Private House with tranquility. To complement this aesthetic, Sulyk Architects used Axolight's Velvet ceiling lights as both functional and design components.
Axolight Velvet Ceiling Lamps
The Axolight Velvet ceiling lamps were designed by Manuel and Vanessa Vivian with a focus on simple round geometries and refined sound-absorbing fabric. In the Private House, the Velvet ceiling lights in the color "ice white" are incorporated in the dining area to illuminate the space after nightfall. This light color and organic shape give the luminaires a smooth floating appearance, while their rigorous light beams and acoustic technology act as functional features.
