More about this product

Located in Topsham, UK and designed by BARC Architects, Sanctuary House is a 600 sqm contemporary home designed to meet the clients changing needs over time. This marvelous project is furnished with Linvisibile’s all-time classic invisible doors that complement the sophisticated building interiors.

The architects were tasked with creating a family home that would become a sanctuary for the owners and that would be adaptable into old age. The building is thoughtfully sited, opening to panoramic estuary views to one side while remaining protected from a near-by road on the other. The generously sized windows admit abundant natural light with overhanging eaves reducing uncomfortable glare.

A unique feature of this home is the fusion of art with the building fabric. Don McNeil’s diptych Synchronicity No34 has been deconstructed and reimagined by the architects. The resulting wall graphics are printed on Coala2 polymeric vinyl and have been applied to the five Linvisibile doors on the ground floor to create another unique and dramatic piece of art.

For this project, LINVISIBILE provided 15 highly bespoke doors matching the adjoining wall finishes. In addition to furnishing the doors, LINVISIBILE offered a complete service experience supporting the clients in the design phase, transportation, and installation.

Four LINVISIBILE were specified for this project;

ALBA Filo 5 Hinged Door - Linvisibile’s hinged system is an exclusive patented door, which is completely flush with the wall and reinterprets the traditional hinged opening; available in pull and push opening models. It’s distinguished by the use of concealed hinges and the absence of doorframes or jambs to achieve seamless continuity between wall and door. It can be painted in the same finishing as the walls, becoming almost invisible. Or the door structure can be left visible, with only the panel forming part of the design continuum and the panel finishing. The system also can be coated with almost any type of material (metal, stone, leather) to create special atmospheres, in a tasteful way. There are glossy, matt and wooden versions offered as well.

ALBA Fire Resistant Hinged Door - Linvisibile’s fire-resistant REI 30 - EI130 Hinged Door (mod.F.11 REI) is a patented system for completely flush to wall doors and flush with the wall panels (concealed aluminum and hinges).
