Marking a particularly significant milestone as he celebrates his 80th birthday, Aquila, considered one of the most active painters of his generation, presents "Em Torno dos 80," a memorable exhibition defined by warm and meaningful reunions. Opening on August 26, the exhibition honors the master with the participation of artists who worked alongside him at Parque Lage during the 1980s—a period marked by a resurgence of freedom of expression, particularly within the realm of painting.

"Construction of a Labyrinth" Exhibition in Seville / Marina Morón

Construction of a Labyrinth is the latest proposal from the artistic team of Elena Morón and Jesús Marina. It features latent virtual images that will gradually emerge, physical photographs that truly exist, a play on codes and texts, and real voids and perforations created by the artists.

Exhibition "How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Way to Design"

"How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Way to Design" is part of the commemorative activities marking 50 years since the civil-military coup d'état in Chile. The exhibition focuses on the graphic and industrial design produced during the government of President Salvador Allende (1970–1973). It is co-produced by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Centro Cultural La Moneda (CCLM), with the collaboration of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation and the Goethe-Institut Chile. The exhibition will remain on view until January 28, 2024.

The launch of the first industrial printer for additive construction in Latin America will take place on Thursday, December 14, at the Universidad del Bío-Bío's Concepción campus. This printer will enable the construction of entire houses in Latin America for the first time. It represents a significant advancement in additive construction developed by the UBB's Center for Research in Construction Technologies (CITEC), which has already produced various pieces of furniture and residential walls using an industrial robot in collaboration with several industry partners.

Workshop "The Forgotten Space: Between the Perception of Space and Virtual Reality"

The workshop invites architecture and urban planning professionals and students to develop, over five days, an architectural project for the physical and conceptual transformation of a "Space" into a "Place." The work is based on three structural elements: the theory of change as a model for controlling the design process, environmental psychology elements for the perception, reading, and transformation of lived space, and Virtual Reality (VR) applied to design development.

Sesc Rio de Janeiro invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Da Kutanda ao Quitandinha – 80 anos" on December 1, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. The exhibition marks the beginning of the 80th-anniversary celebrations for the venue, which opened in 1944 as a hotel-casino and now houses the Sesc Quitandinha Cultural Center. Curated by Marcelo Campos, the expansive exhibition is organized into six sections, tracing a narrative that begins in the 18th century with the earliest records of Black presence in the Freguesia de Nossa Senhora de Inhomirim—the foundation of the region's settlement—via the Piabanha River and the plantations that relied on enslaved labor, ultimately giving rise to the city now known as Petrópolis.

On Saturday, December 2, São Paulo will host the Urban-Based Education Festival (URBE), an education and urbanism festival open to students, educators, and families to discuss the future of cities. With the goal of disseminating knowledge about walkability and inspiring other cities and public administrations, the Instituto Caminhabilidade is launching three mini web documentaries and a three-part podcast series detailing the winning projects of the 2023 Walkable City Award: Rua da Gente, in the municipality of Benevides, Pará; the Novo Horizonte and Region Neighborhood Plan, in the municipality of Jundiaí, São Paulo; and the Infrastructure in Education and Sanitation Program (Proinfra) in Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará.
