This Monday, May 25, marks the beginning of the 7th Arica Barroca South Andean Art Festival, an initiative established in 2014 to highlight the cultural identity and diversity of Arica, Parinacota, and the South American Andes.
For 2020, Arica Barroca introduces the theme “Sayarikuna”—Quechua for “We will rise”—to spark inquiry into exemplary manifestations across the American continent. It invites us to reflect on a return to our origins, the principles of “good living” (*buen vivir*) within the Andean worldview, and the practice of collectivity, reciprocity, and access to information, learning, and *Ayni*.

“Rethink the City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges” is a free online course offered by the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft (Netherlands). Following two sessions with over 17,000 students, a third iteration will begin on February 19, 2020. The course received the 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP).

Ser Urbano is an annual event hosted by the Architecture and Urbanism program at PUC-Rio. Organized by students, it reflects their concerns within the field of architecture and urbanism, seeking to stimulate critical and creative thinking within the academic environment. The event, which features roundtables, debates, and workshops, reaches its 11th edition this year.

The course brings together leading architectural photographers and their contributions across three historical periods: pioneers (1826–1900), modernists (1900–1950), and contemporaries (1950–present).

USINA BAR is a public space for meeting, conversation, and enjoyment centered on design disciplines and urban culture, with the goal of facilitating and energizing interaction between diverse actors and fields of knowledge.

The Latin American Virtual Meeting: Liquid Utopias will be held in a decentralized manner via digital platforms and channels between September 19 and November 7, 2020. From a multidisciplinary perspective, it will feature various activities organized into five weekly blocks, such as conferences, panels, discussions, PechaKuchas, workshops, and remote actions. These aim to problematize, reflect on, and conceive of alternative ideas and visions that allow for the construction of other worlds where all people and living beings can see themselves reflected.
