The Latin American Virtual Meeting: Liquid Utopias will be held in a decentralized manner via digital platforms and channels between September 19 and November 7, 2020. From a multidisciplinary perspective, it will feature various activities organized into five weekly blocks, such as conferences, panels, discussions, PechaKuchas, workshops, and remote actions. These aim to problematize, reflect on, and conceive of alternative ideas and visions that allow for the construction of other worlds where all people and living beings can see themselves reflected.
This meeting is the result of a collaboration between the Latin American Coordinators of Architecture Students (CLEA Latin America and CoLEA Southern Cone), which bring together architecture student organizations from 18 countries.
Given the current context, they seek to address the need to reflect, discuss, and propose actions in light of the contingency. To this end, the meeting uses virtual and digital tools as a space for collective action, fostering dialogue between leaders from different sectors of society and various countries in the region. Furthermore, it is worth noting that this event is entirely self-managed, non-profit, and free for all participants. This means that the 50 activities on the event agenda, which will be held via the Zoom virtual meeting platform, will be open for registration (subject to limited capacity) or can be followed via live stream on YouTube and Facebook Live.
