The 1st Biennial International Conference on Acoustics and Vibration (ANV 2020), will be held Online, at 23 – 24 November 2020. The Conference is organized by The Vibration and Acoustics Laboratory (VibrasticLab), Engineering Physics Department, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya, Indonesia. The theme of the Conference is “Sound of Indonesia” and will be held Online. The aim of the conference is to bring together students, scientists, and engineers who are involved in research and development of technology related to acoustics, vibration, and its application.

As the world bears witness to the widespread protests that directly confront racism and the institutions that uphold its existence, monuments continue to function as sites of radical gathering and critical action. This keynote discussion will focus on acknowledging, removing, and reimaging how monuments function within our society.

On the weekend of July 25 & 26, Gray Area is proud to present in partnership with the Architectural Association and California College of the Arts, a transcontinental gathering of leading creatives in art, architecture and design for UTOPIAA, a new online festival dedicated to boldly reimagining architecture and spatial practice in response to the ongoing global pandemic. Curated by the Architectural Association’s new AA Visiting School San Francisco in residence at Gray Area, this two-day event will feature live workshops, panel discussions, online exhibitions and other activities staged in virtual space for audiences in the Bay Area, London and beyond, bringing together the respective institutions’ communities of innovators, designers, architects and academics for a critical conversation about the future of the cities and spaces we inhabit.

For the first time, MSDx will be held as a virtual exhibition on an interactive multimedia platform, showcasing hundreds of pieces of studio work by our talented students.

We all know the Workplace will never look the same after this, but how will what we call our 'Workspaces' change? How can we best prepare to adapt for the new normal, ensuring our spaces continue to attract staff and build the human connection?

World Architecture Festival have launched Talking Architecture, a series of webinars in the lead-up to WAF in Lisbon on 2-4 December. The WAF team will be inviting contributors to discuss current issues of architectural concern, followed by interactive engagement with registered participants. All the webinars are free to attend and can be watched back on demand.

The lecture series "​Architecture and the City in the Post-Industrial Age​" is organized to commemorate Kengo Kuma's 11 years of his professorship at the University of Tokyo Department of Architecture and the retirement from the school in 2020 March. Each lecture session invites leading figures in various fields not limited to architecture. Nine sessions have been held between April 2019 and February 2020. The final session which was postponed due to COVID-19 will be held online on July 18th.

A lot of people view it as a tradition to visit the graduation show at the Aarhus School of Architecture and experience the many beautiful and inspiring projects made by the new architects.

This talk with designer Tom Lloyd of Pearson Lloyd and architect Louise Grassov of Schulze+Grassov, will look at the how urban design and architecture affect the way we live and move around our cities. With a presentation by both and an opportunity for questions, this talk will delve into how these two practitioners’ feel that lockdown and Covid 19 will influence the way they view their practice.

MONTAGSREIHE is a series of lectures by the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich. The series sees itself as an enriching contribution to the Munich architecture discourse between architects, students, and those interested in architecture.
