With the Rhine-Ruhr Express (RRX) project, DB Netz AG is implementing one of the most important rail infrastructure projects in North Rhine-Westphalia in order to upgrade regional transport on the core route of the Ruhr region and the central Rhineland from Dortmund via Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf to Cologne by increasing both the frequency of service and the transport capacity. As a result, the RRX brings major transport benefits to the city of Düsseldorf.

December 16 2021, Super Typhoon Rai, locally known as Typhoon Odette, made landfall in the Philippines. The storm was unexpectedly powerful, undergoing what is called “rapid intensification” the day before making landfall, which is becoming characteristic of tropical storms occurring in our warming climate. With winds of up to 195 km/h and gusts of 260 km/h, the storm was comparable to a category five hurricane when it hit.
Hidesins Luxury Display Design
YSY GROUP, Hidesins and Desall invite you to design a family of “pop up” display installations dedicated to women's ready-to-wear bags and high-tea desserts. The installations will be positioned within 5-star luxury hotels, and in particular within tea rooms. The goal is to promote the brand and its core product (women’s bags), creating a unique, unexpected and engaging space in which hotel guests can take photos to post on their social networks, and then continue the experience at the table as they enjoy a refreshment.

Our world is changing fast, while ambitions and challenges match in importance. In this context, design can play a huge role. How do we imagine the world to be? What range of possibilities we haven’t discovered yet? What’s a Non Architecture for a World in crisis? In 2020 we started the second phase of competitions to address the issues of tomorrow.
We would like to invite filmmakers and distributors to participate in Arquiteturas Film Festival Porto 2022, and submit film projects related to this year's theme—'Slow Down!'
Candidates participating in this competition are asked to design a floating pavilion on the Drava River, which would serve as a small stage and a place for contemplation by the river. The pavilion is primarily intended to serve as a venue for smaller events and shows (small bands, discussions with notable guests, wine tasting, etc.), but also as a relaxation site, offering views of the river and the historic city centre. The small stage will particularly serve its purpose during the Lent Festival in June as an additional performance stage. It is necessary that the floating construction can be moved easily to another location by the river (if required) and be adapted quickly to different programs. The pavilion should highlight the existing qualities of the area, ensure a better connection between the elevated Lent riverbank and the river and, consequently, invite people closer to the river.
The Postgraduate in 3D Printing Architecture is a 6 month full-time course aimed at architects, engineers, designers, material engineers, mechanical engineers and construction professionals willing to specialise in this new technology, and willing to explore how it will shape the way we think, design and build a more sustainable habitat.
The goal of the competition is the redevelopment of the market area in via Buontalenti and piazza Cavallotti, through the regeneration of a central urban space for the city, which gives an input to the renewal of the historic center of Livorno. The result will have to be an increase in both the commercial and social vocation, accentuating the urban quality, welding it to the recovery and implementation of market functions and aggregative functions, with a proposal that takes into account a vision of both the specific and general urban context.

The aim of this competition is to encourage students to brainstorm design solutions for issues that plague the world and mankind. The problem can be of any nature ranging from design problems to environmental problems. You have no constraints as to what you can design or redesign, it can be a product, a building, a space, a neighborhood, a city, or even a new type of technology.
The UIA World Congress 2023 CPH Science Track has now opened its Call for Papers, asking how architecture can activate its profound agency in shaping our societies and its potentials for a sustainable, equitable and inclusive future for all. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2023 Copenhagen taking place July 2-6, 2023.
